Abstract
"A total of 342 salmon and grilse were counted through the Milltown Fishway trap from May 16 - November 15, 1985. The count was 100 fish higher than in 1984 and the highest since trapping began in 1981. Of the total fish captured, 14% were classed as 1SW salmon based on a fork length of < 63 cm.; 11% of the total run was classed as hatchery returns based on tag recaptures, fin degeneration and various marks. A small proportion (1.7%) of the salmon and grilse initially captured in Milltown fishway fell back downstream and were later recaptured in the fishway trap."
