This document is loose copied pages with a plastic binding.
The inside of the first page is has the name David Whittingham written in blue ink at the top of the page.
The first page is a letter from Aubrey Russell sent to David Whittingham of Loon Bay Lodge. The letter describes how Aubrey Russell's father worked in the logging industry on the St. Croix river in the early 20th century.

The next 5 pages are the collected notes of Aubrey Russell's father describing logging on the St. Croix in the early 20th century.

Pages 6 and 7 are entitled "The St. Croix River in Log-Driving Days: as told by Bill Marshal, who drove the river for 39 years, starting in 1912 until 1951; started at $1.25 a day and in 1951 got $5.00 a day, working six days a week"

Pages 8-11 are entitled "The St. Croix River -1900-1970 (As related by Aubrey H. Russell)"

Pages 12-17 are entitled "Last Big Log Drive Down the Keenebec - By Dava Sorbel, Photos by Robert Grant"
These pages are in poorer condition, with the copying makin g some of the text rather difficult to read and the photographs almost non-existent.

Page 18 is entitled 'The Lumberman's Alphabet' , a poem that uses each letter of the alphabet to discuss various facets of logging.
