Subject
Rare and Vulnerable Species in New Brunswick in 1984
Abstract
"This report examines the status of 52 native New Brunswick species including 1 plant, 6 molluscs, 5 insects, 6 fishes, 2 amphibians, 23 birds and 7 mammals deemed to be rare or vulnerable in the province. In addition, the distribution and habitat requirements of each species are briefly described, and for most of these species map showing sites of occurrence in New Brunswick are presented. Habitat alteration in its varied forms appears to present the most immediate threat to the populations of many of these species. The status of many species, particularly among the fungi, algae and invertebrates, remains unknown and unassessed due to a lack of information."
