"This report presents a strategy to guide the development of the Central NB regional economy over the next four years. The Strategic Plan is the product of hundreds of hours of work by dozens of Central NB residents who participated in a variety of workshops, interviews, sector task groups, survey questionnaires and committees.

Definition of the Strategy was preceded by an extensive economic analysis of the region's economy that is summarized in the section of the report entitled , 'The Economy of Central NB'. The analysis identified that the Central NB economy has experienced very positive growth in both population and economic performance indicators over the past decade (1991-2001). The challenge going forward will be to consolidate these gains and to build on them so as to sustain and, hopefully, increase future growth and development in keeping with projected goals and objectives."
