"Introduction
A coastal zone management study was undertaken for the east coast of New Brunswick during the period 1972-1975. The adverse effects of beach quarrying and various land use activities were described. This study was found to provide useful resource planning information to a variety of public and private agencies.
The present study of the Bay of Fundy Coast of New Brunswick was initiated in September 1978 to document the coastal processes and resources and to prepare recommendations for coastal zone management. The environmental impact of beach quarry activities was to receive special emphasis. This study attempts to integrate, by airphoto interpretive and field reconnaissance methods, and through literature review, a vast amount of separate and single discipline environmental studies previously prepared for the Fundy Coastal Zone."
